Which countries are most resilient in 2026?
The August 29, 2026 Country Resilience Index snapshot ranks 170 of 196 countries. Its top three are Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, with Switzerland at rank 1. The index measures capacity to absorb shocks and recover; high scores reflect fiscal room, institutions, infrastructure, and supplies, while countries below the headline cutoff remain unranked instead of being guessed.
How is the Country Resilience Index calculated?
Seventy-two published indicators are rescaled to 0-100, blended into 21 dimensions, grouped into six domains, then three pillars. Those pillars combine at 0.40/0.35/0.25, then a min-pillar penalty drags the total toward the weakest link. Coverage ships with every score; thin evidence is flagged low-confidence and held out of the ranking.
